Master both aerobatic and flight-testing maneuvers with IIAS professionals in an Extra 300L aerobatic aircraft (6 flight hours) and a Marchetti S-211 2-seat jet aircraft (2 flight hours) in an intense 5-day course. The course will focus on professional pilot development through upset recovery training and an exposure to flight test procedures.
Day 1-3: Upset recovery (Extra 300L)
Improve your airmanship through an immersive experience in unusual attitudes. This course will improve your confidence as a pilot through stall and spin recovery as well as recovery from a variety of scenarios where an aircraft has departed from controlled flight. Basic aerobatic maneuvers will be introduced including the loop, aileron rolls (snap rolls and slow rolls), the Immelman, the Split-S, and the Hammerhead.
Day 4: Performance flight testing (Extra 300L and Marchetti S-211)
The following performance procedures are introduced:
- Speed power
- Takeoff performance
- Climb performance – sawtooth climbs
- Level flight performance
- Turn performance
- Landing performance
Day 5: Stability and control flight testing (Extra 300L and Marchetti S-211)
The following stability and control flight test procedures are introduced:
- Static and dynamic longitudinal stability
- Longitudinal control and trim
- Lateral-directional stability
- Rolling performance
- Directional control
- Flying qualities
